Biography
Megan Gracia Montaner was born on 21st August 1987 in Huesca, Aragón, Spain. Originally, Megan began training as a makeup artist and worked for Localia Television, a local TV Network in Huesca. However, she was always interested in acting and, after attending a Cristina Rota acting workshop, decided to move to Madrid at the age of 18 and study at the school of Cristina Rota, from 2008-2010. Megan herself attributes not going into acting simply because Huesca didn't provide her with many opportunities to do so.
Her first role was in the television series 'La pecera de Eva' (The Fishbowl of Eva) in 2010; she was in eight episodes spanning the first two series. Later that year she was featured in a TV miniseries 'Vuelo IL8714' (Flight IL8714), which documented the crash of a Spanair plane in 2008. Between 2010-2011 Megan played the role of Gloria in the TV show 'Amar en Tiempos Revultos' (Love in Difficult Times). However, Megan's big break came when she was cast in the main role of Pepa Aguirre in Antena3's new telenovela 'El secreto de Puente Viejo' (The Secret of the Old Bridge); this catapulted her to fame in both her native country and Italy. She left the series after 381 episodes in 2012, although returned in 2014 for a special chapter. Also, in 2012, Megan participated in the charity Oxfam's project Table for 7 Million, along with playing Ana in the short film 'El trayecto' (The Journey).
In 2013 Megan became a protagonist in the third series of 'Gran Hotel', a telenovela set in early 1900s Spain. Megan played the role of the feisty lawyer Maite Ribelles - she was in 14 episodes. Another miniseries Megan was involved in that year was 'Tormenta' (Storm), where she gave life to the character Elia.
2014 was a very busy year for Megan: she was featured in two films and one TV series. The former projects are entitled 'Por un puñado de besos' (For a Handful of Kisses) and 'Dioses y perros' (Gods and Dogs); she played Adela alongside Hugo Silva's Pasca. Furthermore, Megan played the main role of María Fuentes in the Antena3 TV series 'Sin Identidad' (Without Identity). The show was very popular and ran for two series, finishing in July 2015. 'Víctor Ros' was another show Megan had a main role in in the year 2015; it originally aired on the TV Channel La 1. She played Lola la Valenciana, a prostitute.
Currently, Megan is filming 'Task Force 45', an Italian series. In additional, Antena3 has recently commissioned a new series called 'La catedral del mar' (The Cathedral of the Sea'. Although it hasn't been announced what character Megan will play, she will begin filming it in October 2015.
